The ingredients needed to make Dal Makhani:
- {Get 1 cup of black lentil soaked overnight.
- {Take 3 Tbsp of garlic water.
- {Prepare 6-8 Tbsp of butter.

- {Get 1 Tbsp of ginger-garlic paste.
- {Make ready 1 Tbsp of degi Mirch powder.
- {Get 5-6 Tbsp of ghee.

Steps to make Dal Makhani:
- Wash the Dal three times and soak overnight..
- In a heavy bottomed pan add the Dal, garlic water and water to cook the Dal. Takes 1 hour to cook on low flame.
- Add salt and butter and set aside..
- In a pan heat 2 Tbsp ghee, add ginger-garlic paste, deghi Mirch powder, tomato purée and sauté until tomato purée is well cooked. Add to Dal. Bring the Dal to boil, add salt and butter and mash the Dal.
- In a separate pan heat ghee, add kasoori Methi, deghi Mirch powder and a little water to get the colour. Set aside the pan when adding water. Add this to the Dal, bring it to boil and add butter. Give one last stir and set aside.
- Plate with rice and enjoy.
