Steps to make Dal makhani:
- Boil soaked dal and rajma in a pressure cooker by adding 1 teaspoon salt and water until 5-6 whistles at medium flame..
- Heat the pan and add ghee, butter and bay leaf..
- Add chopped onions and ginger garlic paste. Saute it until it turns light brown..
- Add chopped tomatoes and saute it until it turns mushy and oil separates..
- Add garam masala, jeera powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix it well..
- Put boiled dal and rajma in the pan and add 2 cups of water. Mix it well..
- Cover the lid and cook it for 1 whistle at high flame..
- Put the cooked dal in a serving bowl..
- For the tadka add ghee in pan and put it on a low flame then add hing and red chilli powder in it. Garnish it on dal..
- Garnish the dal with coriander leaves, onion and fresh cream. Serve it with chapatis or jeera rice..
