The ingredients needed to make Dal makhani:

  1. {Take 3/4 cup of urad dal (black lentils), (soaked in water overnight).
  2. {Get 1/4 cup of kidney beans.
  3. {Take 250 gm of tomato puree.
  4. {Prepare half of a cup fresh cream/homemade cream/malai.
  5. {Prepare 3 of large cloves of garlic / 3 tbsp amul garlic butter.
  6. {Take 2 tbsp of punjabi masala (I used kitchen king masala).
  7. {Take 3-4 tbsp of butter.

Steps to make Dal makhani:

  1. Take a pan and add butter, then turn on the stove and add tomato puree to it. Add salt to taste, res chilli powder and garlic cloves/garlic butter to it..
  2. Boil the black lentils and kidney beans (no worries if over cooked, infact that will give better flavour)..
  3. Now after 30-35 minutes of tomato puree being cooked add black lentils and kidney beans in it..
  4. Let it cook for 30-35 minutes and lastly add fresh Cream, cook it for 15 minutes more. Now it's ready to serve with kulcha/rice.
