The ingredients needed to make Dal Makhani:
- {Prepare 1 cup of black urad dal.
- {Make ready 1 tbsp of Rajma.
- {Prepare 1 tbsp of chana dal.
- {Prepare 1 of badi elaichi.
- {Get 1 stick of dalchini(cinnamon).
- {Make ready 1-2 of laung(cloves).
- {Get as required of Water.
- {Make ready 2 of onions.
- {Make ready 4 of red tomatoes.
- {Make ready 1 of spoon besan.
- {Get 1/2 cup of Fresh cream.
- {Get as required of Homemade butter or amul butter.
- {Get 1-2 of Green chillies.
- {Get 1 tsp of Garam masala.
- {Make ready 1 tsp of Kasoori methi.
- {Get 1 tsp of coriander powder.
- {Take 1 tsp of jeera powder.
- {Get to taste of Salt.
- {Prepare 1/2 tsp of Jeera/cumins.
- {Take 1 pinch of Hing.
- {Prepare 1 of Tej patta (bay leaf).
- {Get 3-4 tbsp of ghee/ oil.
- {Prepare 3-4 tbsp of Ginger garlic chopped.
- {Make ready as per taste of Kashmiri red chilli powder.
- {Get as required of Coriander leaves.
Steps to make Dal Makhani:
- Soak Dal, Rajma and chana dal for over night..
- In morning wash it properly and then put it in pressure cooker. Add salt, dalchini, badi elaichi,tej patta and 2 laung add water to it. Boil it for 5 whistles and then keep it in sim flame for 20 mins..
- Let it cool and in the mean time prepare tadka for it..
- Take a wok. Add 3-4 tbsp ghee or oil to it. Let it heat and then add jeera and hing to it. Add chopped ginger garlic to it. Saute for few seconds and add chopped onions and green chilies to it fry until golden brown now add besan to it roast it for 2-3 mins now add chopped tomatoes to it (you can add puree of tomatoes also but chopped gives good flavour although it depends on you whether to add chopped or puree).Add dry masala and little salt to it Cook it for 3-4 mins..
- Once done add cream to it. Again it depends on u if u want to make it more rich and creamy u can add little more cream to it. Mix it properly in low flame for 1-2 mins and add kasoori methi and cook for 2 mins.
- Now add cooked dal to it and then add lots of water to it. Once starts boiling add butter to it. Cook it in sim flame for 1 hour. Keep stirring in between..
- Now before serving take a wok add butter in it. Once it melts add kashmiri red chilli powder and then add the dal u want to serve to it. It really gives nice colour and taste to dal. Finally before serving add coriander leaves and cream..
