- In a kadai heat butter and ghee. Add cumin seeds. When crackles add crushed garlic cloves and grated ginger. Saute for sometimes. Add tomato puree and saute till ghee seperates..
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, dhania jeera powder, garam masala powder, salt and kasoori methi. Add 1-2 tablespoon water and mix all masalas well. Add cooked dal along with water and mix well..
- Now add approximate 1and 1/2 cup water. Cover with lid and cook for about 20-25 minutes on low flame. Stir in between..
