Instructions to make Dal makhani:

  1. Soak black urad dal and rajma overnight or around 6 hours.
  2. Put it in the cooker and add finely chopped onion optional with coriander,red chilli and Turmeric and garam masala powder and cook for 8 to 10 whistles or till completely mashed.
  3. Take a kadai add butter with ginger garlic paste.
  4. Cook till ginger garlic changes colour add red chilli powder,once oil separates add slit green chillies.
  5. Add tomato puree into this and cook till oil separates.
  6. Check the dal if cooked add the dal in the masala,cover and cook for 20 minutes.
  7. Now prepare the tadka for the dal take garlic and crush them fry them till dark golden in colour.
  8. Add fried garlic in dal with more butter.
  9. Lastly add cream before serving.
