  1. {Take 1/2 cup of whole Urad Dal,.

  12. {Get 1 tsp of garam masala.
  13. {Make ready 1 tsp of oil.
  14. {Get 2 tbsp of butter.
  15. {Prepare 2 tbsp of cream or malai.
  16. {Get 1 piece of Charcoal.
  17. {Get 1/2 tsp of ghee.

Steps to make Dal Makhani:

  1. Wash and Soak Rajma in water for 15- 20 minutes. Wash all the dals together..
  2. In a pressure cooker add Rajma,all dals and all the ingredients except cream.Add 2 cups of water, pressure cook till 2 whistles and lower the flame and cook for 20 minutes..
  3. After 20 minutes open the cooker, check if Dal is cooked,if not add little more water and cook till 2 whistles..
  4. Dal should be well cooked and soft. Reduce if there is any water.When it gets thick add 1/2 cup water and let it cook till the Dal becomes creamy..
  5. Now add cream or malai to it and mix..
  6. Take a piece of Charcoal burn it on gas,(it will take some time). With a tong remove it in a small bowl,add few drop of ghee on burning charcoal. Keep the bowl in the prepared Dal and cover it with a lid and let stay for 7-8 minutes..
  7. Now Dal Makhani is ready to serve.Garnish with more butter or cream. It can be had with Naan or Tandoori roti or plain Roti..
